Essence is applied after toner and before serums, ampoules or moisturizer. Essences are usually more runny than serums or ampoules in consistency, and the active ingredient concentrations are not as high. Essences contain more moisturizing and nourishing ingredients than toners. Pat the product onto the face with your hands. Always patch test new products to ensure they suit your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. Apply a small amount to an area like the neck and wait 24–48 hours to check for any reactions.

If skin irritation, such as redness, swelling or itching occurs after use or exposure to sunlight, stop use of the product and consult a doctor if necessary. Do not use for broken skin. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with eyes and rinse with water if the product gets into the eyes.

Tea tree, i.e. tea tree oil and extract, has antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been researched to help fight acne-causing bacteria. The use of tea tree especially benefits skin prone to impurities and oiliness.
