In addition, its antioxidant properties protect the skin against both external (e.g. air pollution) and internal (e.g. caused by the normal processes of digestion) free radicals. Vitamin C also prevents damage caused by the sun in the skin and enhances the effect of the protection factor of the sunscreen.
